Dear colleagues,


My fellow researchers and I will be hosting a symposium on «TARKOVSKY REVISITED: dialogue between the moving image and the other arts», which will take place (both in-person and via Zoom) at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto, Portugal, on December 16th 2021.

The event, which will feature two keynote lectures by Dr Tobias Pontara (University of Gothenburg) and Dr Steven Jacobs (Ghent University), proposes a discussion on a transdisciplinary approach to the Russian filmmaker Andrei Tarkovsky, namely the dialogues between his body of work and the visual arts, as well as literature and music. In light of the importance of Tarkovsky in the history of cinema, perspectives on his influence on current artistic and cinematic practices are also valued.

Please find attached to this email the CFP and respective themes proposed.
All proposals should be sent to  until October 15th 2021.
