CAS50: Fifty Years of the Computer Arts Society

The Computer Arts Society was established in the UK in 1968 by George Mallen, Alan Sutcliffe and John Lansdown and pioneered the development of computer arts in the UK and worldwide.

To celebrate 50 years since the founding of the society, CAS supported a number of events and activities in 2018 and 2019. This included the creation of a celebratory CAS50 Collection and exhibition, multiple symposia, live events and a conference panel. We also undertook a major revamp of our website, adding new archival and contemporary computer art materials.
