Computer Arts Society (CAS) Chair Sean Clark discusses his latest body of artwork Computational Constructs. In this talk to launch an exhibition of his work at BCS Moorgate, he presents the motivations behind his work, introduces the concept of a “reconstructavist” aesthetic, and explains how systems concepts inform his creative process.
Alongside the 20 prints on display, Clark will present a multi-user mobile phone version of Computational Constructs, and show early experiments in generating sound – not just images – from his generative systems.
Sean Clark is an independent artist and curator based in Leicestershire, UK. He has a PhD in Computational Art from De Montfort University and, as well as being Chair of CAS, runs the Computer Arts Archive CIC. He is also a Fellow of the BCS Chartered Institute for IT.
The presentation will be preceded by the CAS AGM and followed by a reception and an opportunity to view the exhibition. The event will be recorded and uploaded to the CAS YouTube Channel.
This hybrid event is open to the public and free to attend, but booking is required:
