Review of the V&A Digital Design Weekend by Genetic Moo
Genetic Moo review the V&A Digital Design Weekend, held from 18th to 20th September 2026. CAS occupies the museum’s Digital Studio with 3 Ns and an M, plus Drawing Robots, combining interactive artworks, creative coding and hands-on drawing activities.
The duo’s NNNM project transforms ideas from Georg Nees, Frieder Nake, A. Michael Noll and Vera Molnár into installations responding to visitors’ movement. Touchscreen controls offer choices of patterns and colours, while coding posters encourage audiences to experiment with p5.js.
Sean Clark presents drawing robots whose pictures visitors colour and display around the room. CAS members’ video and generative-art showreels complement the installations, alongside talks exploring historic computer prints.
Genetic Moo reflect on audience participation, the relationship between movement and sound, and visitors’ interest in joining a community of creative coders. Their account connects pioneering computer art with contemporary experiments in play and interaction.
