James Alec Hardy

James Alec Hardy (b. 1979) has been producing installation and performance-based works since graduating from Camberwell College of Arts in 2002. His distinct visual language represents his immersion within digital and analog screen-based media. Exhibiting between underground punk scenes and international biennales, his practice interrogates his analog youth in contrast to post internet networks. His studio houses a major collection of obsolete broadcast equipment, creating video feedback and modular sound compositions, digitised for distribution in online worlds. He connects virtual environments to physical works, utilising blockchain technologies, 3D tools, VR and game engines to bridge the digital and the material.
